We aim to provide the user of our instruments with flexible research tools. Instead of designing instruments as ‘black boxes’ for a particular mode of measurement only, we follow a modular approach that keeps the design of our instruments transparent to the user and allows for modifications of the configuration at any time. As a result, a Beaglehole instrument is much more than just an ellipsometer, but a base system that can be used for many different optical measurements.
